Whenever someone who is tech-savvy is recommending a go-to solution for malware-related problems. One of the programs that are recommended the most is Malwarebytes. When an antivirus fails, Malwarebytes comes to solve a problem. At least that’s how it functioned some time ago.
Malwarebytes is still an amazing tool, but there have been some changes. And performance isn’t as great as it used to be. Despite the flaws, we think that Malwarebytes is still a great addition to your safety arsenal. Read on and learn why we still recommend this tool to all of our friends.
The Premium version of the Malwarebytes
What is different in the version 3.0 of the Malwarebytes? Quite a lot. The Premium version combines all of the previous scanning and detecting technologies that were separate products into a single product. You no longer have to use the exploit protection as a separate product, the Real-time protection watches for malicious behavior, and Web protection keeps the bad websites in check.
If you don’t want to cough up $39.99 needed for the premium version, the free version will suit you just fine. The first thing you will notice is that the main menu looks a bit different compared to the earlier versions, but that doesn’t mean that the layout is confusing, on the contrary. The layout is still simple – just the way we love it. If you have used the previous versions, learning how to use the latest one will be easy.
The free version of Malwarebytes 3.0 comes without the real-time protection – it is only a cleanup product. This is not a problem, since most of the people use Malwarebytes exactly for the purpose of cleaning up what other antivirus apps couldn’t. Even so, Malwarebytes has produced better results in the past.
You should remember that Malwarebytes isn’t created to pass tests, it is created to destroy malware on infected systems, and it does a very good job.
Bring out Malwarebytes to do the cleanup
Despite the fact that the latest Malwarebytes version has some flaws, it remains a useful tool. Just remember that Malwarebytes 3.0 Free is not a replacement for antivirus software. Keep in mind that while having Malwarebytes 3.0 Free is useful, you should use it along McAfee AntiVirus Plus, Bitdefender, or one of the other antivirus tools.
If your regular go-to antivirus fails to do the job, bring out Malwarebytes to do the cleanup, or buy the premium edition of the Malwarebytes 3.0 which will solve the real-time protection problems.
